DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Solidify design choices and fine-tune materials and furnishings.

Full design presentation with 1-3 options per space (finishes, fixtures, furniture).

CLIENT FEEDBACK + REFINEMENT

Revisit design choices and integrate client feedback.

A final refined presentation, typically including:

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS

Finalize all technical and construction-ready details.

Collaborators

Final architectural drawings, refined elevations, and all design specifications (furniture, finishes, fixtures, etc.).

Deliverables

Detailed drawings and specifications ready for bidding and construction.
Timeline planning

CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION + PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Oversee the implementation of the design and maintain communication.

Deliverables

Site visits, regular check-ins, addressing issues or adjustments on-site.

Weekly email updates to client to track tasks, timelines and budgets.

Install

Finalize the project and ensure everything is perfect.

Deliverables

Full install of the project with everything set in place, ready for the client to enjoy.

Contingency plan for missing/delayed pieces.

Guidance on maintenance or care instructions for special pieces (upholstery, hardwood, etc.).

POST INSTALL

Provide continued support after project completion.

Deliverables

Follow-up consultation (typically 1-2 weeks post-install).

Ensure everything is functional and that any final adjustments can be made after client has lived in the space for a bit.

When should I engage with a designer for my project?

There is typically a waitlist, so the earlier, the better! When we're brought into a project at the beginning stages, we're able to work hand-in-hand with the Architect and Contractor and provide expert insight to ensure your creative vision is fully realized. We collaborate with the project team on space planning and designing the building with your aesthetic and functional needs prioritized. We're also able to encourage communication and timeliness to help the project stay on course.

How do you collaborate with your clients?

We focus on gaining an understanding of our clients wants, needs, aesthetic and lifestyle desires. Then, we work hard behind the scenes to develop a design that interprets their vision and delivers the home or commercial space they desired.

How do you source materials and furnishings?

We have an ever growing list of trade-only design accounts that we use in addition to many other sources we have gathered through our years of experience. From vintage finds to custom-made, we make sure to find the perfect pieces for your project.

How much will it cost to hire an interior designer?

We structure our pricing based on the scope of your project. Before our work together begins, we provide an estimate of the hours it will require. It is always our goal to stay within that range, but sometimes that is not possible due to unforeseen factors. Our estimate should give you an idea of what to expect and we will share updates on hours accrued throughout the project.

How does the billing process work?

After accepting our estimate and signing your contract, we collect a 50% retainer. The remainder of the fee is divided into monthly installments.

How do you manage project timelines and budgets?

To manage project timelines and budgets, we start with a detailed plan based on the client's vision and budget, breaking it down into key categories. We track costs closely, providing cost-effective options while maintaining quality. We build realistic timelines with buffer time for revisions and ensure clear communication with clients, vendors, and contractors to stay on track. If issues arise, we proactively solve them and keep the client informed, ensuring the project stays on budget and on schedule.

Can I purchase the furniture?

All purchase orders are managed through our team to ensure a seamless experience from purchase through delivery and installation. We charge you the full retail and associated freight costs plus a mark-up fee.

How many design options will I get to review?

We provide a minimum of 2 design options which we share through DesignFiles, a program that offers our clients the ability to provide feedback in real time on all aspects of the design concept.

How frequently can I expect progress updates on the project?

When the project is in the beginning phases, we typically connect weekly. Once we are in the Design Development and Construction phases, we are in constant communication. Having said that, we still like to conduct structured weekly or bi weekly meetings to make sure everyone is on the same page.

What is your communication style and availability?

We aim to be responsive, transparent and collaborative when communicating with our clients, vendors and members of the project team. We believe that clear communication is key for success! Our standard business hours are Monday–Friday 9AM–5PM CT. Any calls, texts or direct messages outside of business hours will be answered solely at the team's discretion and billed at a premium of 20% above the standard Designer hourly rates, with a minimum of ¼ hour per response.

There are so many micro decisions to make along the way and having Claire there to guide us in both the big decisions in the beginning (design, architecture, flow of space, cabinets, paint colors, etc.) all the way down to the tiny decisions like baseboard and trim, exact cabinet hardware, how to deal with an awkward corner, etc. was so invaluable.
